CAT comes to 42 asst profs’ rescue


Chandigarh, May 29

The Central Administrative Tribunal has directed the Education Secretary, UT, to allow 42 assistant professors to continue in service till the posts are filled on regular basis. The applicants had joined various colleges on a contract basis for the 2019-2020 session and their term was to end on May 31. The tribunal had issued a notice to the Education Secretary and principals of government colleges to file a reply. Counsel for the respondents submitted that the work and conduct of the applicants were being verified. — TNS
