India’s aviation sector has immense opportunities for employment and expansion and the youth of Haryana should take advantage of this opportunity by getting training related to aviation sector.

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said this while addressing the aeromodellers, NCC cadets and schoolchildren during the Aero Modelling Fellowship Programme organised at Pinjore on Saturday. He said that India would be the third largest and fastest growing aviation market in the world and by 2040, 34,000 pilots and 45,000 technical sector new posts will be required in the country and with this a large number of indirect employment opportunities will be available.

Dattatreya said that such events by the Aero Club of India would generate enthusiasm among our children and youth to become pilots and other technicians related to air service. He said recently a major agreement had been signed between Air India and France’s air bus companies for the acquisition of 250 aircraft, which will prove to be a milestone for the expansion of the aviation sector. He said during the last eight years, the number of airports in the country has increased from 74 to 147 and with this there has been a huge increase in the number of domestic and foreign passengers.

Dattatreya said that the Aero Club of India was popularising the aero mindset among the youth of the country by promoting flying as a sport and also encouraging them to participate in commercial flying and aircraft industrial activities and find employment. Along with this the club also inspires the children and youth to take part in risky and thrilling aerial sports while keeping them safe and secure and inspire them to be the future fighter pilots for the Indian Army.

In this aeromodelling show, the participating modellers from different states of the country presented various stunts by models of Antonov cargo, tail dragger, fighter jet powered by turbo jet engine. Among these modellers, Umesh Mor, Doshu Vivandi, Udyan, Vikram Golna, Dr Vikram, etc. displayed their talent. The aeromodelling show was coordinated by Capt Ashutosh Shekhar, flying line monitoring Jamal Ahmed, Vikram Bali and Group Capt Arvind Badoni.

Padma Shri Sheetal Mahajan performed a para jump from a glider. President of Aero Club of India and Lok Sabha MP Rajeev Pratap Rudy and MP Kirtivardhan Singh were also present in the programme.

Glider pilot honoured

Later in the evening, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala presided over the aeromodelling show and honoured 13 youths for best flying of models. He also honoured 13-year-old young glider pilot Maaj Ansari by giving him a citation for his good performance and praised the hard work of his father Zaki Ansari, due to which his son will bring laurels to the country by achieving great heights in the future.

Dushyant Chautala urged MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy that such shows should be organised every year in Haryana so that the youth could get an opportunity to show their talent. He said this year they had got a little less time in this show organised in Pinjore and added that next time this show will be organised in many fold and big national and international pilots and organisations will also be invited in it. Our runway is ready in Hisar and many times bigger events can be organised there, he said.
