The police arrested gangster Oznas, alias Monty Shah, involved in multiple cases of extortion, attempt to murder, robbery and the Arms Act from the rear side of the ISBT, Sector 43, here, around 4:30 pm today.The police said Shah, an active aide of Lawrence Bishnoi and carrying a reward of Rs50,000 on his head, was coming by a bus to meet his wife in Burail. Two weapons were recovered from his possession at the time of the incident. On his disclosure, a country made pistol and seven live cartridges were also recovered.On October 11, 2020, Shah attacked Burail resident Tirath Singh with an intention to kill him. Singh is working with Balaji Cable Network, Burail, earlier run by Sonu Shah, who was killed by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A case under Sections 307 and 120B of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.DSP (Crime) Rajeev Kumar Ambasta said during preliminary interrogation, the accused disclosed his links with other gangsters. He admitted that he used to collect protection money from guest houses and other small scale businessmen under threat.
