The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Municipal Corporation today cleared work orders worth Rs19 crore and passed estimates of development works worth Rs2 crore.
Divulging details about a meeting of the F&CC held today, Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu informed that paver blocks, parks and other development works were being carried out in different areas of Mohali as per requirement. He said apart from the work of installing new benches in parks, there are works of street lights and also many works of the Public Health Department.
The Mayor said a new park would be developed in Sector 78. He said strict instructions had been given to the contractors to start all these works within a week.
Jeeti Sidhu said development works worth Rs100 crore were on in full swing in Mohali. He said councillors, along with his own team, were regularly reviewing these works so that no compromise was made in the quality of works.
Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, MC Commissioner Kamal Garg, Finance and Contracts Committee member Jasbir Singh Manku and Anuradha Anand were among those present.
