Three nabbed with narcotics
Mohali: The Lehli police have arrested Humbran resident Avtar Singh in Lalru and seized 180 litre raw material for making country made liquor. Further, the Mohali police nabbed Ferozepur resident Gurvinder Singh, facing three attempted murder cases, with 18 gm heroin. Also, the Lalru police arrested a peddler and seized 59,100 narcotic pills from his possession. TNS
Remand for Rohila in extortion case
Chandigarh: The CBI Court has sent Rajesh Kumar Rohila to two-day CBI remand. He had surrendered before the court on Monday in an extortion case registered by the bureau against its four sub-inspector. The CBI arrested CBI sub-inspectors Sumit Gupta, Pardeep Rana, Ankur Kumar and Akash Ahlawat on a complaint filed by the owner of a local IT firm. He had alleged the accused demanded Rs 1 crore threatening him to implicate in a false case. TNS
Delegation of BKU (R) meets DC
Mohali: Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal) president Balbir Singh Rajewal led a delegation of the union members that met the Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday. They demanded farmers of the district should be compensated for the damage caused to their crops by a hailstorm in 2020. Rajewal brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner that the farmers of the seven villages of Akalgarh, Bhagraan, Munto Bhag Singh, Mundo Sangti, Salempur Khurd, Salempur Kalan and Nangar Gari were awaiting compensation.
