Objections raised by the Radical Teachers Forum during the elections to the Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers’ Association (GNDUTA) 2018-2019 have been addressed after Kamaljit Singh, the Dean Academic Affairs, GNDU, released a notification regarding the post of joint secretary.
After winning the elections, the Radical Teachers Forum had raised an objection over the election of a candidate stating that not more than three members could be part of the association from the same department.
Davinder Singh, president, Guru Nanak Dev University Teachers’ Union (GNDUTA), said, “The matter has been solved. The Dean Academics Affairs has released a notification that the post of joint secretary this year shall remain vacant.”
A total of 309 staff members had caste their votes during the elections. The contest was between the Radical Teachers Forum and the Dynamic Teachers' Association.
Dean (Academics Affairs) Kamaljit Singh said, “Yes, I have implemented the provision in the calendar.”
