Senior SAD leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali, who is at present out on bail in a disproportionate assets and fraud case, is yet to repay the loan to Punjab Agricultural Development Bank (PADB).

Notably, a cheque-bounce case is pending against his family as they had given some post-dated cheques of Rs33 lakh to the bank (of December 31), but these bounced and bank officials moved court for recovery.

Kolianwali’s family originally owed about Rs95 lakh to the bank, but it has paid some amount in the past.

Krishan Kant, manager, PADB, Malout, said, “We have moved the court against Kolianwali after the cheque bounced. His family has not paid a single rupee after the cheque bounced.”

Before this, Kolianwali’s name had allegedly cropped up in a multi-crore job scam in 2016, when a councillor from Malout town was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau.

In December 2004, Kolianwali along with his son Parminder was booked in a murder case and later acquitted by a court in 2011. Before the Assembly poll in 2012, nearly 15 packets of some suspicious substance were seized from his residence during a massive raid. Later, he got a clean chit from the court.

In 2014, during the Talwandi Sabo by-poll, AAP leaders had accused him of attacking their party candidate.
