Chandigarh, August 12
The American Society of Civil Engineers, PEC student chapter, organised a talent search examination “Quriosity-2018” for the students of Classes IX and X on the campus on Saturday.
The objective of the event was to inspire young minds and evolve a scientific temperament among the budding engineers. Quriosity was conducted to test the scientific and mental ability skills of students and introduced them to the competitive exam culture.
According to PEC, around 400 students from 20 different schools across the tricity participated in the event making it a huge success.
PEC spokesperson said the winners would be honoured in a separate prize distribution ceremony and the results would be announced in the last week of this month.
GMCH doctor wins best paper award
In the recently concluded Asian Musculoskeletal Society of Radiology Conference at Chennai, a doctor of GMCH, Sector 32, won the first prize and gold medal in the Prof Virender Mohan Best Resident Paper Award Competition.
Dr Vivek Jirankali, a radiology resident of GMCH, carried out the award winning work on radiology of bone tumours.
Prof Suman Kochhar, Prof and Head of the Department of Radiodiagnosis, GMCH Chandigarh, said it was a big achievement for the college and the Department of Radiology, as the very first batch of the MD residents had bagged the prestigious award. — TNS
