A week-long sports fest was organised for students of Manav Mangal. The opening ceremony began with the lighting of a torch, march past by Class X students and an oath-taking. Students of the middle wing and the senior wing participated in various innovative races such as pyramid race, treasure hunt, feed-the-crab, props-at-the-station, target-the-ball, basketball dribbling, balance-the-bean-bags and 100-metre cross fit race. 

St Joseph’s, Chandigarh

Students of St Joseph’s School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, participated in the 47th state-level science, mathematics and environmental exhibition for children and made a clean sweep at the prize distribution. 

KB DAV, Chandigarh

KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 7-B, organised the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Inter-DAV Shalok Recitation Competition, in collaboration with the Gita Prachar Samiti, Panchkula. As many as 220 students from DAV institutions of the tricity, Dera Bassi and Surajpur participated in the contest. The event was graced by former Chairman Prof Santosh Sharma, Department of Hindi, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh.

Shemford Futuristic, Pinjore

A one-day educational-cum-fun trip was organised for students of Classes VI, VII and VIII to the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra. The excited Shemstars visited the Kurukshtra Panorama, the science museum and the planetarium. They also visited the Krishna Museum where they saw glimpses of the life of Lord Krishna.

Brilliance World, Panchkula 

A workshop on crimes related to cyber security and crimes related to unprotected exposure to technology was organised. The workshop was conducted by ACP Nupur Bishnoi of Panchkula, along with her staff from the cyber cell. A demo on the functioning of Durga Shakti App meant for the protection of girls and women in distress was also held.

New India, Panchkula

Kindergarten students of New India School participated in ‘Show and tell’ activity in class. Students presented their topics well and brought their toys, fruits and props to give a presentation. Sharda Gupta, director of school, applauded their efforts.

AKSIPS-125, Kharar

Kingdom Animalia adventure was organised for tiny tots of AKSIPS-125. The pre-primary explorers were made to look like a veritable jungle with the models and cutouts of various animals in their respective habitats. They learnt interesting facts about the incredible creatures.

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

A special assembly to mark World Aids Day was organised at AKSIPS-41 Smart School for students of Classes VI to XII. Speeches were given by the students and teachers. They talked about the AIDS pandemic, its causes and prevention. Later, they paid a homage to those who have died of the disease stressing on the need to not to shun the HIV and patients. TNS
