As many as 16 people were infected with COVID-19 in Dharog Mohalla of Chamba town on Wednesday after they came in contact with a corona positive patient.
Dr Rajesh Guleri, CMO Chamba when contacted said that all 17 persons who today tested for corona infection in Chamba district were primary or secondary contacts of corona positive patients.
He said that 35 people who were secondary contacts of corona positive person in Dharog Mohalla were tested and 16 were found to be positive today.
Those who tested positive today in Dharog Mohalla include a 70-year-old male, 49-year-old male, 13-year-old male, 50-year-old male, 24-year-old male, 44-yea-old female, 22-year-old male, 50-year-old male, 19-year-old male, 20-year-old female, 28-year-old female, 43-year-old male, 42-year-old female, 43-year-old female, 54-year-old female and a 30-year-old female.
The seventeenth person who tested positive was 47-year-old male resident village Chamroli near Chamba with history of contact with a confirmed positive case.
With 17 new positive cases, total active cases are 53 in district Chamba.
Meanwhile, in Kangra district four more tested positive taking total number of corona infection cases in the district to 496 including 123 active cases, 368 cured and three dead.
Those who tested positive in Kangra today include 22-year-old male resident of village Rodigudi near Dadasiba with travel history from Mumbai, 22-year-old male resident of village Boh near Shahpur with travel history from West Bengal, 25-year-old male resident of village Gagloi near Majheen a primary contact of positive case and 33-year-old Army personnel with travel history from Leh.
