Various educational institutes in Jammu celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Different activities ranging from march past to cultural items were organised to mark the celebrations on their respective premises.
University of Jammu
The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at the University of Jammu (JU) with enthusiasm and zeal. Celebrations were attended by a huge gathering of teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the university. Prof Manoj K Dhar, JU Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the Tricolour and released the balloons.
Govt School, Rattno Chak
Government Upper Primary School, Rattno Chak (Lower), celebrated Republic Day with zeal. After hoisting the Tricolour by the dignitaries present there, a colourful presentation of cultural items was presented by students, who enthralled the audience.
BSF School
BSF School, Jammu celebrated Republic Day on the school premises with gaiety . The IG, BSF, Jammu Frontier, NS Jamwal, was the chief guest on the occasion while Rajni Jamwal, First Lady, BSF Jammu Frontier, was the guest of honour.
Doon International School
To mark the importance of Republic Day, a celebration was held at Doon International School, wherein students celebrated the spirit of unity. The students presented a mesmerising patriotic and cultural programme.
Rich Harvest School
Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on the Rich harvest School campus. Students pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity diversity and uniqueness of the country.
Udhampur KV No. 1
Celebrations of Republic Day were also held on the premises of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) No 1, Udhampur. After hoisting the Tricolour, various cultural items were presented by students, which was appreciated by all.
MIER College of Education
The co-curricular committee of the MIER College of Education celebrated Republic Day by organising an inter-departmental performance poetry competition on a patriotic theme. Naresh Kumar and Virender Singh bagged the first prize while Neha Bhardwaj and Mamta Dutta secured second position. Meenakshi Devi and Deepi Jamwal finished third.
