The Transport Department of the district has instructed the owners of school buses, who were issued challans in the past few days, to hold a proper route permit for their vehicle.
Along with this, the department made it clear to hold route permits for vehicles other than buses, including autos and vans.
The RTA (Regional Transport Authority) and Additional District Transport Officer conducted a counselling for all bus owners.
Sukhwinder Kumar, RTA Secretary, said in the past two days, 421 school buses were checked, of which 177 buses were issued challans while 44 were impounded. He said several owners got their vehicles released today after completing the formalities.
