Four employees of the Haryana Vidyut Parsaran Nigam (HVPN), including Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) Manoj Malik, suffered burn injuries while fixing a fault in a 132-KV power substation in Jind’s Talora Kheri village on Wednesday night.

They were admitted to a Jind hospital, from where they were referred to a multi-specialty hospital in Hisar.

Other victims have been identified as Junior Engineer Kapil, Ravinder and Ramesh. Their condition was said to be out of danger.

Malik, who was hospitalised in Jind, said he and others were fixing a vacuum circuit breaker when suddenly a light flashed and they got burn injuries.

XEN Vishal Sharma claimed no villager came to the rescue. “Malik had to drive to hospital,” he said.
