Palwal, March 6
The police have arrested an alleged criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000.
Palwal DSP Dinesh Yadav said the accused, identified as Kayim (30) of Hathin subdivision in the district, was nabbed after acting a tip-off about him.
The DSP said the accused, wanted in a theft case, had been absconding for the past five months.
According to information, the Delhi Police had booked him in connection with an incident where a truck containing betel nut was diverted and the material was illegally sold somewhere else instead of transporting it to the dealer company in the national capital in October last year. The betel nut was being brought from Karnataka.
The DSP said a case under Sections 508 and 407 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against two persons, one of them was arrested in the past.
The Delhi Police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on Kayim.
The DSP said he would be handed over to the
Delhi Police after initial interrogation.
