Double murder in Hansi town

A woman and her daughter-in-law were shot dead by a group of assailants in Hansi town of the district today.

The accused barged into the house of advocate Banty Yadav in the Adarsh Nagar locality and opened fire on those present in the house.

The police said one of them, identified as Monu, a local resident, reached the house armed with firearms. They opened fire on the woman Geeta, mother of advocate Banty Yadav, and also Yadav’s wife Supriya. Yadav was also present at the house, but he saved himself by bolting a room.

The accused fled from the spot as some neighbours, hearing gunshots, arrived at the house. Afterwards, Yadav took his mother and wife to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
