Dept orders action against Jagadhri college prinicipal

Yamunanagar, May 17

The Department of Higher Education has ordered the management of Maharaja Agrasen Mahavidyalaya, Jagadhri, to take action against the college principal for allegedly concealing facts while applying for the top post. The department has also sought action-taken report at the earliest.

The order issued by the department stated, “It is evident that the selection committee did not give its dissent regarding the appointment of the principal while making the merit list. It clearly proves the principal did not disclose a criminal case pending against him while applying for the post of principal. Accordingly, the private management of Maharaja Agersain Mahavidyalaya, Jagadhri is ordered to take appropriate action as per rules and submit a report in this regard.”

GD Gupta, a senior advocate and social worker, had filed a civil writ petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court last year seeking direction to remove the principal. Following the High Court direction, the department issued an order in this regard on May 5, 2016.
