Dr Jagdish Chander Dureja, Director of the college, said in the third phase, a 250-bed mother and child care block would be constructed near the main casualty building and it would be interconnected.

Apart from this, in the Phase-3, three colleges for nursing, paramedical service and physiotherapy would be constructed. “Nursing students’ hostel, MBBS students’ hostel, PG doctors’ hostel, student dining block, public canteen, expansion of lecture theatre, medical college block will be constructed,” said Dr Dureja.

Though the post-graduation (PG) courses in all specialties have been running since 2015, there was no PG hostel on the campus. Now, a special PG doctors’ hostel would be constructed, he said.

There was no provision of stay for guests of faculty members, staff and students. A guest house, containing 16 VIP rooms and four VIP suites, would be constructed on the campus. The director said all buildings would be constructed or expanded by the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and the projects would be completed within three years. He said as many as 1,800-2,000 persons visited the OPD daily.
