Punjab and Haryana High Court dismisses petition challenging constitutional validity of sedition law

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the sedition law in the wake of the registration of a case against 100 protesting farmers on July 11. The Haryana Progressive Farmers Union had sought the quashing of Section 124A of the IPC on the grounds that it was violative of Articles 14, 19(1)(a) and 21 of the Constitution of India. TNS

Traders incurring losses due to farm stir: Vij

Yamunanagar: The police have arrested three persons from different places in Yamunanagar on Thursday and recovered three illegal country-made pistols and cartridges from their possession.
