The historic Chowgan, called lungs of Chamba town, was closed for the winter today for maintenance till further orders. District Magistrate DC Rana issued the orders to this effect and no activity would be allowed there now.
“Chowgan is closed every year during the winter for all kinds of activities for maintenance and making it green again,” Rana said in the orders. Action would be taken against those found violating the orders, he added. — OC
