Shimla, June 30
Union Minister of Railways, Coal and Industries Piyush Goyal today said the Himachal model to combat Covid-19 had gained appreciation across the country. Besides, the steps taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deal with the pandemic had also been hailed by the WHO.
Addressing a virtual rally of the Mandi parliamentary constituency from New Delhi, the Union minister said both Central and state governments were committed to ensuring the all-round development of the hill state.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the Prime Minister’s vision for Digital India ensured that they remained in touch with the masses even during the curfew and lockdown. The Central leadership and the party high command had directed them to hold rallies through video-conferencing to know about the problems and needs of the masses.
He said the state had held the maximum number of rallies, even up to the block and mandal levels.
Thakur urged the Union minister Piyush Goyal to approve a bulk drug pharma park for the state.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur also joined the rally from Delhi.
