Incessant rain in the past last two days resulted in swelling of water in the Swan tributaries in the district. Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said he toured various parts of the district to assess the damage to roads, buildings and other infrastructure.

Prajapati said some roads had been blocked due to debris falling from the hillside, which was cleared by PWD workers. He said in view of the rush of devotees during the Shravan Ashtami fair in Chintpurni, extra vigil was being kept on roads leading from Amb, Mubarikpur and Gagret to Chintpurni since most of the devotees entering the state took these routes to reach the shrine.
