Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will present the budget for the financial year 2019-20 on February 9 during the winter session of the Assembly which will have a total of 13 sittings only.
The session which will commence on February 4 with the Governor’s address. It will have a total of 13 sittings till February 18. The Chief Minister will present the supplementary budget on February 4 and the budget estimates for the year 2019-20 on February 9.
Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, Dr Rajeev Bindal said he hoped that the members would raise issues of public importance during the Bill and participate in discussion on important and urgent issues fruitfully. “I am hopeful and confident that the house will find unanimity on issues of paramount importance,” he said.
As per the notification issued by Secretary, Vidhan Sabha, discussions will be held on the budget estimates and demands and voting will take place along with the passing of the Appropriation Bill. Two days have also been earmarked for the Private Member’s Business along with passing of some important Bills. As is the normal practice, this time there will no break in-between after the budget is presented.
