Chandigarh, January 22
After several days of controversy over who is heading the Criminal Investigation Department, the Haryana Government today finally issued a formal order, giving the charge to CM Manohar Lal Khattar.
A press note issued by the government today said the Governor of Haryana, on the advice of the Chief Minister, has allocated some new portfolios to the Chief Minister and to two ministers.
As per a notification issued by the Chief Secretary, the portfolios of the CID, Personnel and Training departments and Raj Bhawan Affairs have been allocated to the Chief Minister in addition to his existing portfolios with immediate effect. The portfolio of Elections has been allocated to Transport Minister MC Sharma while Art and Cultural Affairs go to Education Minister Kanwar Pal. — TNS
