Hoshiarpur, December 16
Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice TPS Mann and Rajan Gupta, Administrative Judge, Sessions Division, Hoshiarpur, today laid the foundation stones of two new court complexes on Bajwara-Bulanwari Road and Bagowal village in Mukerian. These would cost the exchequer over Rs 19 crore. They also planted saplings at the sites. District and Sessions Judge SK Arora and SSP J Elanchezhian were also present.
Earlier, the judges lighted the ceremonial lamp after which special children of Asha Kiran School sang Saraswati Vandana. District Bar Association president RP Dheer welcomed the guests.
Justice TPS Mann said the court complex in Hoshiarpur would have facilities such as chambers for lawyers, bar rooms, residence for judges among all necessary facilities. He also said that the court complex would prove beneficial to the city residents. He further divulged that funds for the construction of the complex had been transferred to the district administration and the complex would be ready in one year.
Justice Rajan Gupta said the the new complex was hardly three or four km away from the old site.
District and Sessions Judge SK Arora thanked the judges for gracing the occasion.
Hoshiarpur MLA Sunder Sham Arora, ex-Cabinet minister Tikshan Sood, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anupam Kaler, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Harbir Singh, Hoshiarpur SDM Jitender Jorwal, Assistant Commissioner (General) Amarjit Singh, District Revenue Officer Aman Pal Singh among others were present.
