Jammu, July 20
The Jammu unit of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will install sanitary napkin vending machines in three schools of the city.
Under its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the AAI has taken up the project of improving menstrual hygiene among women of the underprivileged section of society.
Taking a step in this direction, a menstrual hygiene awareness camp was organised at the Jammu airport under the leadership of the president of the local unit, Priti Gautam, wife of DK Gautam, director, Jammu airport. The project includes supply, installation, operation and maintenance of sanitary napkin vending machines along with incinerators in three schools at nominal cost. The project duration is of three years and will include several new initiatives for the improvement of hygiene among students. — TNS
