How will you sum up your journey in the television industry?

I have given 7-8 years of my life to television and have been doing back-to-back shows. I feel I have a much stronger connect with the audience through my characters. Viewers follow the character till the show’s run unlike a film.

Tell us about your role in Apna Time Bhi Aayega.

I am playing Vikram Rajawat, who belongs to a royal family. But unlike other members of his family, he is carefree and positive, who manages to find something good even in a bad person. Vikram is the only one who seems to have a very light-hearted approach.

What is the one quality that helped you become a good actor?

I am not yet sure if I am a good actor or a bad one. When I get a scene, I try to keep my lines in the most natural way. I believe it should just flow from a person.

How active are you on social media?

I am competing with people who usually make at least five reels, 10 stories and post twice a day sharing all the things that they do. I can’t do that because our shoot schedules are so tight that you barely get time to post. At times I come home and realise it’s been a month since I have posted.

What fitness regime do you follow? Any diet that you completely abide by?

I usually go for a run every morning prior to hitting the sets. While I am shooting, I ensure to eat protein- rich healthy food but when I get back home after my shoots, I sometimes gorge on a vada pav or a plate of chole bhature. And that’s how my fitness regime gets ruined! Being a Punjabi, it is honestly difficult to follow a diet.

Name a celebrity who inspires you to look fit...

This definitely has to be Akshay Kumar! At 50 plus, he is doing stunts and follows a rigorous fitness regime every day. Also Hrithik Roshan. When I look at him and the effort he puts in to maintain his looks and health, it is absolutely insane. I am also immensely inspired by Anil Kapoor sir.

Is it tough to be yourself in the industry?

Absolutely! There is so much competition that an actor deals with. You got to work day and night to keep someone else from taking your place. You have to constantly be on your toes. Being laidback and taking it easy doesn’t really work when there are people around you waiting to grab an opportunity.

An ambitious dream that you wish to achieve?

It would be seeing my photo printed on posters. I have not had that moment yet. That’s a dream I aspire to achieve, hopefully soon.
