Ludhiana, October 17
Fiftyfour more persons today tested positive for Covid, while one person lost his life to the virus.
The total number of positive cases reached 19,606 and the toll went up to 818.
Today, a 71-year-old woman from Jandi village of Jagraon lost her life. She was admitted to the CMCH and was also a patient of diabetes and acute kidney problem.
Those who tested positive today included 11 persons who were contacts of positive persons. Ten were referred from OPDs, 23 from flu corners and nine are still being traced.
DC Varinder Sharma said under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab Government, the number of coronavirus patients getting cured in Ludhiana district was increasing with each passing day. He said there were 339 active patients in the district at present.
He said whenever the district administration and the Health Department Ludhiana find out any positive or suspected COVID patient, his/her samples were immediately sent for testing.
