Ludhiana: The Moti Nagar police have arrested four persons on the charge of gambling during the night curfew on 100 Foot Road, Sherpur. The investigating officer, Kuldeep Singh, said they got information from sources around 9:50 pm on Sunday that the suspects were playing cards in a street during the night curfew. TNS

10-year-old Boy goes missing

Ludhiana: A 10-year-old boy has gone missing. In a complaint to the police, Ranjit, a native of UP, said: “My son Akash was staying along with a person in Janakpuri, who is known to me. My son has been missing since August 20. I suspect that he has been kept under wrongful confinement by someone.” The police have registered a case under Section 346 (Wrongful confinement in secret) of the IPC against unknown persons at the Division No. 2 police station. Illicit liquor recovered

Ludhiana: The police have arrested a man on the charge of running a business of illicit liquor. The police claimed to have recovered 12 bottles of liquor from his possession. The suspect has been identified as Balwinder Singh. A case under sections of the Excise Act has been registered against him at the Jamalpur police station. TNS
