Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal and MC Commissioner Kanwalpreet Kaur Brar have been transferred from Ludhiana. Now, DC Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma (IAS) has been shifted as Ludhiana DC. Besides, Tarn Taran DC Pardeep Kumar (IAS) has been posted as MC Commissioner. Agrawal have been posted as Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, SAS Nagar, and in addition chief administrator, Punjab Urban Development Authority, SAS Nagar, and in addition Director, Town and Country Planning. Brar has been posted as Director, Tourism & Cultural Affairs, and in addition Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Heritage Tourism Board, and in addition CEO & General Manager of Virasat-E-Khalsa Foundation, Anandpur Sahib, and in addition Managing Director of Punjab Tourism Development Corporation Limited, and in addition Special Secretary of Tourism & Cultural Affairs. Complaint against illegal colonies

Ludhiana: An RTI activist, Kuldeep Singh Khaira, has written to the GLADA Chief Administrator against the allegedly illegal colonies coming up at Bulara village. He has alleged that several more illegal colonies are being raised in other villages, including Rania, Sangowal and Jaspal Bangar, in Ludhiana district. Khaira said: "Numerous colonies are being raised by developers without getting approval of a competent authority under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (PAPRA). I have requested the Chief Administration of GLADA to take action against these illegal colonies." TNS

Leader points out encroachment

Ludhiana: A BJP leader has complained to the Secretary, Co-operative Societies, against an alleged encroachment in the HOUSEFED complex on Pakhowal Road near Phullanwal Chowk. Vineetpal Singh Monga has alleged that some persons are raising illegal construction by encroaching on the first floor of a commercial pocket of the complex. TNS
