Ludhiana, July 18

The MLA (Ludhiana East), Sanjay Talwar, and the Principal, SCD Government College, Dr Dharam Singh Sandhu, along with others visited and inspected the construction site of the upcoming Government College, Ludhiana East, on Saturday.

Sandhu said 67 per cent of the work of the college building was complete. Arts and science blocks of the college were ready, he added. The construction work of the administrative block of the college was still pending, he said.

Talwar said the Government College, Ludhiana East, was his dream project. He would leave no stone unturned to push for the completion of the project so that it could be handed over to the department for use by this December, Talwar added.

Notably, the construction of the college had suffered a setback owing to the Covid-19 crisis.

“It is assumed that the remaining 33 per cent of the work, worth Rs 4 crore, is likely to be completed soon so that classes of the Ludhiana East College can be shifted to its new building,” said Talwar.
