Ludhiana, June 22

The state government is committed to provide sports facilities at rural areas at par with cities. Youth of the rural area would be benefited from the construction of the sports stadium at Dangon village in Raikot tehsil of Ludhiana district.

This was announced by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh after laying the foundation stone of a sports stadium at Dangon village today. The stadium will be constructed at four acres of land at the cost of Rs 30 lakh. It will be named after Sikh Guru Ram Das.

Addressing villagers on the occasion, Dr Amar Singh said: “The state government led by Capt Amarinder Singh wanted to provide sports infrastructure at the village like those available in cities. All facilities will be available at this modern stadium. The rural youth will get an opportunity to take part in different games and compete in competitions at various level tournaments.”

Dr Singh said the government was making all efforts under the initiative Mission Fateh to put the things in order since all activities got disturbed due to the lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic and the situation would improve in near future.

Kamil Boparai, a youth leader, along with Prabhdeep Singh Narangwal, a member of Zila the Parishad, and sarpanch Amritpal Singh honoured Dr Amar Singh with siropas (robe of honour).
