Ludhiana: Special task force of the Ludhiana police has nabbed two women smugglers and recovered 1.2 kg of heroin from their possession. They are residents of Sant Nagar and Durga Puri, and both are sisters. The AIG of STF, Snehdeep Sharma, said they received a tip-off that the two women were on the way to deliver drugs to their clients. They were stopped at a naka and the heroin was recovered from their possession. Both were already declared proclaimed offenders in drug cases. Their father is a notorious smuggler. TNS

Cops distribute 25K masks

Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police distributed 25,000 masks in localities with sizable population of migrants and underprivileged people. Police Commissioner Rakesh Agrawal said the police would distribute a minimum of 25,000 washable and reusable cloth masks every day. They have got about 2 lakh masks from philanthropists and NGOs. Agrawal asked the residents to follow the Covid 19 norms or else the police would strictly deal with violators. TNS
