Woman kills 5-year-old daughter

A five-year-old girl was allegedly brutally murdered by her mother in Navneet Nagar, Salem Tabri, here today.

The woman smashed her head on the wall and the floor of the bathroom. The deceased was identified as Darpan and the accused was identified as Priyanka Devi.

As per the SHO, Salem Tabri, Gopal Krishan, the woman was taking bath in the washroom and asked the child to bring shampoo for her. The moment she came to hand over the shampoo, the woman dragged her into the bathroom and smashed her head on the wall and floor.

He said the woman did not like her elder daughter due to which she used to torture her. Her husband had also warned her many a time, but she didn’t yield. Two months ago, the woman had also given birth to a girlchild.

Listening to the shrieks of his daughter, her father went to see for himself what was happening and was shocked to see the child lying in a pool of blood. He immediately rushed her to hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead. The accused woman was arrested.
