The Tablighi Jamaat event in March in Delhi’s Nizamuddin locality led to the spread of Covid-19 infection to “many persons”, Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy told the Rajya Sabha.
He said the Delhi Police had arrested 233 Jamaatis and 2,361 had been evacuated from the Islamic outfit’s headquarters since March 29.
The Minister said an investigation into the role of Jamaat chief Maulana Mohd Saad was underway. — TNS
