Read Bhagavad Gita: PM to youth

NEW DELHI, MARCH 11

There is a similarity in the core messages of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita — a Hindu scripture — and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) call, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.

Launching an e-version of Swami Chidbhavananda Bhagavad Gita through vide-conference, Modi said: “The core of Aatmanirbhar Bharat is to create wealth and value not only for ourselves but for the larger humanity. We believe that an Aatmanirbhar Bharat is good for the world,” the Prime Minister said.

“India is humbled that vaccines made here are going around the world. We want to heal as well as help humanity. This is exactly what the Gita teaches us,” Modi said. Urging people, especially the youth, to read Gita, the PM said the teachings of the scripture were practical and relatable. — TNS
