A three-member inquiry committee of the Health Department has submitted its report indicting three blood bank officials in connection with the transfusion of HIV-positive blood to a minor at the Civil Hospital.
The three have been transferred out and the report has been sent to the Health Secretary for departmental action.
In the report, the panel said an HIV-positive donor donated blood twice at the hospital’s blood bank. After the incident came to light, various NGOs and social workers had demanded strict action against the erring officials. — TNS
