Renewed its attack against Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, the BJP on Friday claimed that he had insulted India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his latest statements “thanking” Pakistan.
BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said, “On one side, General Qamar Javed Bajwa is spewing venom against India, saying his military was ready to avenge bloodshed of its men with ‘khoon ka badla khoon’ and in India a Congress leader (Navjot Singh Sidhu) is thanking Pakistan.”
He said Sidhu and the Congress should clarify whether this was also “the line of the party otherwise they would consider it a statement by Congress president Rahul Gandhi”. “This has become Congress’ habit now — to insult India and its Prime Minister and praise Pakistan and its leaders,” he said.
Hussain said Navjot Sidhu was a Congress leader and his statement thanking Pakistan was an indication of what the Congress felt about the neighbouring nation.
