Rajasthan government ordered a complete lockdown of the state from March 22-31 on Friday as the state’s coronavirus cases rose to 25.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who made the announcement, said only essential services would be functional.
All government and private offices, malls, shops, factories, and public transportation will be closed down, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced after a review meeting.
Gehlot also set up a core committee to handle any exigency.
The development comes as Rajasthan reported eight new cases, taking the state coronavirus tally to 25.
Six new cases of coronavirus were reported in Bhilwara, and one each in Sikar and Pali, Additional Chief Secretary-Medical and Health Rohit Kumar Singh said.
India’s coronavirus cases now stand at 283.
