Students observe Malala Day. In honour of the young activist Malala Yousafzai, the United Nations declared July 12, which is also her birthday as Malala Day to support world education. Students observed the day to appeal to the world that they must ensure compulsory and free education for every child. Students delivered speeches, recited poems and prepared posters and slogans to show their solidarity with Malala Yousafzai's ambition. Meanwhile, the school unveiled the 11th edition of its school newsletter- MINDSCAPE. As the print edition of the newsletter could not be published due to Covid-19, Principal Anjali Marriya decided to convert the publication into a digital one. The digital newsletter issue carries on the front page the theme of the scholastic year 'CLDAV GOES ONLINE', all the activities conducted online, academic results, articles, poems, illustrations & art work contributed by students and teachers, our achievements and the happenings in the school across all sections.


Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dharamshala Cantt.

Van Mahotsava was celebrated with enthusiasm. A variety of saplings such as Bottle Brush, Kachnar, Jamun, Thuja were planted by the Principal and teachers. Students planted sapling in the surroundings of their houses and sent pictures. Different types of medicinal plants like neem, aloe vera, basil etc. were planted by the teachers and staff members on the premises. Principal Pushpa Sharma motivated students through an e- message and said such drives provide an ideal opportunity to instil the value of social responsibility in the students towards safeguarding trees / forests and our ecosystem in general.


Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

Devika Sihag, a Class XI student, won a cash reward of Rs 2,00,000 from the Sports Department, Government of Haryana, in recognition of her exceptional achievements in badminton during the last year. Devika is a leading badminton player in the country in her age group with an impressive record. She is ranked No.2 in Girls' Doubles and No.6 in Girls' Singles as per the rankings released last year by the Badminton Federation of India. She also won the gold medal in Sub-junior Doubles (U-17) and a Bronze in U-15 singles in the Nationals and a bronze as part of the U19 team. Devika is currently training under the aegis of the renowned Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Bengaluru. Senior Principal Vineeta Arora congratulated Devika on this incredible feat and conveyed her best wishes to the parents for further achievements in her journey ahead.


Mount Carmel School, Mohali

Students of Class VIII participated in an activity wherein they prepared cloth bags from old and unused clothes. Students took the help of their parents in stitching cloth bags. Through this activity, the students gave a message to the society to use cloth bags instead of polythene bags and plastics. Meanwhile, the school celebrated World Population Day on the virtual platform. Students of classes VIII to X participated in it enthusiastically. They delivered speeches and talks to create awareness about the rising population and the problems and issues arising due to it.
