'The Gutka Guy': Man chewing tobacco steals the show and sparks meme fest during Kanpur Test

India and New Zealand are currently sweating it out on the field in the first Test in Kanpur. However, someone else stole the show off the pitch.

A spectator was caught by the TV cameras sitting beside a woman and chewing tobacco or gutka while talking on the phone.

As fans were cheering for debutant Shreyas Iyer’s half-century, cameras caught the man and it triggered a meme fest online as he was termed ‘The Gutka Guy’ by the netizens.

Oblivious that he is on the giant screen, the man continued as the woman seated on the next seat was seen cheering excitedly.

While his disinterest in the game left many laughing, the fact that he was chewing tobacco made viewers say: “It’s big giveaway where the match was being hosted”. Many even called him the “Man of the Day”.
