National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Chairman Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala has reaffirmed NABARD’s commitment towards welfare of farmers in the country.
Chairman NABARD was addressing the gathering after inauguration of new regional office building of NABARD in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun on Friday. Dr Bhanwala said bettering the lives of farmers continues to be high on priority for NABARD and the bank through its various schemes is working in that direction.
Referring to Uttarakhand, Dr Harsh Kumar Bhanwala said that in keeping with its commitment to rural prosperity, a focused attention was being paid to rural development in Uttarakhand.
He also described the New NABARD regional office building as a sort of Panchayat Bhawan for farmers. The six-storey NABARD regional office building in Dehradun is eco-friendly and energy efficient. The building is in accordance with the requirement of Green Building. It has a provision of recycling of water, use of treated water for landscaping areas, rain water harvesting structure, sewage treatment plant and the latest disaster resistant technology by providing optimum height to width ratio making the structure stable.
