LUDHIANA: Panic spread at the railway station after a charred body of a 26-year-old porter (coolie) was found from the railway mechanical shed area under mysterious circumstances here today.

Panic spread at the railway station after a charred body of a 26-year-old porter (coolie) was found from the railway mechanical shed area under mysterious circumstances here today.

The victim has been identified as Satyam. He was working as a porter for past six years. His half-burnt body was spotted by passengers after which they informed the police. The Government Railway Police have not ruled out murder. His body was sent to the Civil Hospital for postmortem where it was stated that the victim had sustained 80 per cent burns. The exact cause of death would be known once the report comes.—TNS
