Amritsar, June 15

Punjab, known as the land of five rivers, has also earned a name in the global immigration map thanks to youth’s fetish with migration. Eight out of ten Punjabi men want to settle abroad, preferably Canada and bringing forth the subject is the upcoming Punjabi film Jatt vs IELTS.

As the name suggests, the film is about a village simpleton’s struggle to get his ticket to settle abroad. Starring debutant Ravneet Singh and Khushi Malhotra, the film stars Gurpreet Ghuggi and Anita Devgan among others.

Director Devi Dutt was in city to promote the film along with the cast. “I can define this film as a cynical humor. I just hope people will support and appreciate my work as always,” said Ravneet. The leading lady of the film Khushi Malhotra said, “This is just my second film but I am so happy that I am a part of this type of concept. Being a Punjabi this is one thing you listen every day that someone from your relatives and friends cleared IELTS and is going abroad. But the way this concept is being treated in the film is so different. Working with whole team was a learning experience. I wish this film will surely touch the right chord of audience’s heart.”

“After coming to Punjab, I realised about the craze of settling abroad here. Then I decided to make a film on it,” said Dutt.
