21 city schools to become ‘smart’

AMRITSAR: The Punjab government is aiming to have multiple smart schools in the state.

The Punjab government is aiming to have multiple smart schools in the state. The first phase to convert government senior secondary schools into smart ones is going to begin soon. A total of 21 schools across the district will be developed into smart schools.

The schools will be equipped with solar panels, CCTV cameras, smart classes with projectors, state-of-the-art furniture and other infrastructure. The students studying in these smart schools will also be having separate uniforms.

The schools such as Government Senior Secondary School, Sultanwind, Government Senior Secondary School, Lopke, Government Senior Secondary School, Harsha Chhina, Government Senior Secondary School, Majithia among others.

These schools have also been asked to open separate bank accounts so that the fund money can directly go into their accounts.

Deputy DEO Rekha Mahajan said, “The process is on. The school heads are going to meet soon also about the same. The funds will also be transferred. Earlier, we had 17 schools, now the list contains 21 schools in total.”
