AMRITSAR: For the convenience of passengers, the Railways has decided to add additional stoppages to 12357/12358 Kolkata-Amritsar-Kolkata Durgiana Express and 22125/22126 Nagapur-Amritsar-Nagpur Express at the Beas railway station on an experimental basis for six months from December 12.



AMRITSAR: For the convenience of passengers, the Railways has decided to add additional stoppages to 12357/12358 Kolkata-Amritsar-Kolkata Durgiana Express and 22125/22126 Nagapur-Amritsar-Nagpur Express at the Beas railway station on an experimental basis for six months from December 12. Falling in the jurisdiction of the Amritsar district, Beas is the spiritual headquarter of Radha Soami Satsang. The 12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express will arrive at the Beas station at 04.22 pm. While returning, 12358 Amritsar-Kolkata Durgiana Express will arrive at 06.25 am with a two-minute stoppage in both directions. The 22125 Nagpur-Amritsar Express will arrive at the Beas station at 08.15 pm. While returning, the 22126 Amritsar-Nagpur Express will arrive there at 04.40 am with a two minute-stoppage in both directions. TNS

2 booked for demanding dowry 

Tarn Taran: Two persons have been booked for allegedly demanding dowry. The suspects have been identified as Ramnik Singh and his mother Rajinder Kaur, both residents of Loharka Road area.  Complainant Raminder Kaur, a resident of Patti, said she was married to Ramnik eight years ago. Raminder said her in-laws and her husband had been harassing her mentally and physically for dowry. On her complaint, a case under Sections 498-A, 406 and 323 of the IPC has been registered. OC

Civil Hospital gets six EMOs

Amritsar: The state government has appointed six new emergency medical officers (EMOs) at the Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial Civil Hospital here. It was a long-pending demand of the medical fraternity. The posts were sanctioned a long time ago. As no appointments were made, doctors from specialist cadres and rural medical officers often performed emergency duties. The medical staff at the hospital said the appointment of the emergency medical officers would reduce the burden on them. They said earlier, they were overburdened. Rakesh Sharma, chairman, Employees’ Welfare Committee at the hospital, said they were elated that the government had fulfilled a long-pending demand. He said it would help them better medical services. TNS
