Spice factory sealed

AMRITSAR: A spice factory in Bal Kalan village, Majitha Road, was sealed here on Sunday. Accompanied by cops and led by Duty Magistrate Archna Sharma, a team of officials raided the factory. Ten samples of different commodities, like turmeric, red chilli and methi were collected and sent for analysis. Stock worth about Rs 20 lakh was seized. Officials said most of the material had expired and kept unhygienically. The advocate of the firm resisted the move of the administration. TNS

Car stolen in Tarn Taran

Tarn Taran: An Innova car (PB-02-V-0041) was recently stolen during the night from Guru Amar Das Avenue.The police have registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC. Car owner Jasbir Singh Pannu said he had parked it outside his residence, but found it missing next morning. He urged the police to trace the vehicle as well as the thieves. OC
