Members of the All India Patwar/Lekhpal and Kanungo Union have urged the NDA Government at the Centre to form a Union revenue ministry to simplify the registration of properties.

Addressing a gathering of patwaris and lekhpals from across 10 states at a meeting here, Punjab Patwar and Kanungo Association president Nirmal Singh Bajwa said that there had been a number of issues of the revenue department that needed to be sorted out at the Central level.

He added that these changes would ultimately offer convenient services to the public and trouble-free job to patwaris.
