DAV College holds lecture on ‘Kakeya needle problem’

AMRITSAR: The Department of Mathematics of DAV College organised a lecture on the “Kakeya needle problem” today.

The Department of Mathematics of DAV College organised a lecture on the “Kakeya needle problem” today. Prof Shobha Madaan from the IISER, Mohali, was the keynote speaker at the event. Madaan has earlier taught at IIT, Kanpur.

In her address, she spoke about the existence of the numbers 1, 2, 3 and infinity, one to one correspondence between the sets, bijective mapping, infinite sets and union of sets by giving practical examples.

Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar congratulated Prof RK Jha, head of the department of mathematics and other staff members for organising scholarly lectures for the intellectual growth of students.
