Amritsar, February 21

The hockey team of Rail Coach Factory, Kapurtha, prevailed upon Odisha-XI 11-0 in the first match and Steel Plant, Bhillai, 11-0 in the second match on Thursday. It was the second day of All-India Guru Nanak Dev Hockey Gold Cup 2019 being hosted by Khalsa Hockey Academy, Khasa College. In both the matches, RCF dominated from the beginning and kept scoring the goals with ease.

Navneet Kaur, forward player of the RCF, was declared player of the matches for her performance and bringing the team to the dominating position. In the other matches, the host Khalsa Hockey Academy NCR Badkhalsa 10-1 while in another match Haryana-XI beat Odisha 7-1. Navneet Kaur from Khalsa Academy and Manisha from Haryana were declared players of the matches, respectively.

The tournament is being organised by the Khalsa Academy under Khalsa College Charitable Society on the historic college campus from February 20 to 24. The eight top hockey teams from across the country are participating in the tourney, said Sports Director Kanwaljit Singh and Dr Daljit Singh, head department of Physical Education.
