Married woman alleges rape, one booked

AMRITSAR: A married woman, who works as farm labourer, was allegedly raped by Bau Singh, a resident of Bal Sikander village.

A married woman, who works as farm labourer, was allegedly raped by Bau Singh, a resident of Bal Sikander village.

Following her complaint the police have registered a case under Section 376 of the IPC against Bau while no arrest has been made so far. The case was registered four months after the victim lodged a complaint.

The victim, a resident of Dalla Rajputa village, in her statement to the police on October 15, 2016, stated that the accused raped her and captured the incident on his mobile. She alleged that while threatening to circulate the clip, he continued to physically exploit her.

She said on May 15 last year, Bau took her to Jalandhar on point of pistol. She stated that the accused kept her at a house and raped her for 10 days.

When the owner of house came to know about the incident, he gave her money to return home, she added. Investigating officer said the case was registered following opinion of the District Attorney (legal). He said no arrest had been made so far as raids were being conducted to nab the accused.
